Copenhagen Zoo in Frederiksberg

Copenhagen Zoo (Zoologisk Have), founded in 1859, is one of the oldest and most respected zoological gardens in Europe. It is located in the municipality of Frederiksberg, west of Copenhagen city centre. Other remarkable places near Copenhagen Zoo are Frederiksberg Palace and two large parks: the huge English-style Frederiksberg Have (north and north-east of the zoo) and Sondermarken (south-east of the zoo). Major streets near Copenhagen Zoo are Roskildevej (the entrance to the zoo is from this street) and Sondre Fasanvej. The metro station closest to the zoo is Fasanvej (about 10 minutes walk), but there is also a bus stop just a few steps from the entrance.
